Marcellin will host Try-a-Skill days during National Skills Week

National Skills Week (29 August – 4 September) recognises, celebrates and informs students and the wider public of the diversity, benefits and career pathways associated with Vocational Education and Training.

VET has a key role to play in our economy and through National Skills Week the community is called to mobilise, inform and inspire Australians of all ages to explore the skills that Industry needs to advance Australia’s competitiveness.

Marcellin Technical College will host Try-a-Skill Days for students in Year 9 – 11 during National Skills Week. Try-a-Skill is a free one-day introductory program to different skills in traditional trades.

The dates:

  • Monday 29 August – full-day
  • Tuesday 30 August – full-day
  • Wednesday 31 August – full-day or selected sessions.

Young people will have an opportunity to engage with skills in Automotive, Construction, Electrotechnology and Engineering (including CNC Machining).

Try-a-Skill will include hands-on activities in each trade trying different skills, demonstrations, Trade Olympics (fun physical activities with a trade focus), sausage sizzle and more...
